Tim Calver is a Miami Beach-based photographer who uses freediving techniques to capture stunning images under, in and around water. His work has taken him across the globe, and has appeared in Time Magazine, Outside, Scuba Diving Magazine and National Geographic Adventure.
On his website , (which we highly recommend!) you can find portfolios of “wet things” and “dry things” and also “wet people,” including pictures of triathletes, rowers, and free divers.
Calver is also known for his portraits of marine life. In the photograph at the top of this post, he says his aim was to truly illustrate the size and scale of a whale.
Calver says freediving helps him to be agile while he’s working, and to become a more natural part of the underwater world.
